The promenade is comparatively level, but much of the town centre sits above the coast. Lifts and stepped routes connect some levels, while individual streets may be steep.

La Carihuela and Bajondillo provide direct coastal access; the upper town can be convenient for rail and shops but needs careful gradient planning.
